Cyber Essentials
Cyber Essentials is an effective, Government backed scheme that offers protection against the most common cyber attacks regardless of the size of your company. The certification process requires an assessment of your IT security and a submission to be assessed.
Cloud10 will guide your organisation through the key components of the cyber essentials programme and provide advice and recommendations prior to applying for the certification.
There are two options that Cloud10 can help you with, those being Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus. Cloud10 carries out Cyber Essentials certification directly, and works with our licenced certification partner to deliver Cyber Essentials Plus.
Cyber Essentials
An entry-level framework that helps organisations of any size or sector protect themselves against the most common cyber threats. Cloud10 will fully support you in gaining this certification, from reviewing your current setup and recommending improvements through to completing the assessment and certification.
- Covers the five core technical controls: firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection, and security update management.
- Shows new and potential customers, suppliers, and funding partners that you take cyber security seriously.
- Meets many regulatory standards and typical cyber insurance requirements.
- Renewed every 12 months to ensure your organisation stays ahead of threats and risks that emerge.
Cyber Essentials Plus
Builds on the basic framework to give you a deeper understanding of vulnerabilities. It does this by scanning all in-scope environments, such as user devices, internal gateways, and servers. However, you must complete the Cyber Essentials assessment first. Cloud10 will fully support you through the process, with the Cyber Essentials Plus audit and certification carried out by our accredited certification partner.
- An independent, hands-on technical audit of your systems by an accredited assessor.
- Vulnerability scanning of your internet-facing and internal systems.
- Testing of a sample of end-user devices, such as laptops, desktops, and mobiles.
- Checks that security updates, malware protection, and multi-factor authentication are working as declared.
- Often required for public sector and local government contracts, as well as by larger or more regulated organisations.
